Progression calls for constant revision to what you do. And that is what Italian based, Maserati have constantly done to regain the glory of days gone by. With the introduction of the 4200GT series in 2001 which featured a roadster with electrohydraulic manual transmission and a coupe in the following year, they looked like they were taking back their crown, except the performance of the Grand Tourers was not up to expectations. Learning from past short comings, the Maserati Cambiocorsa GranSport was bred to be of a high standard if not of exceeding standard. The two door four seat coupe gave paddle shift gear transmission a new definition of smooth transition.

Specially developed software enables faster gear shifting capabilities especially in Sport mode, while at the same time having a longer top gear than its predecessor enabling it a top speed of 180 mph. The shifting modes that are available in the Maserati Cambiocorsa GranSport from the semi-auto transmission are normal, the said sport, auto and Low grip. Auto mode will allow you automated gear shifting while sport gives you a more aggressive response from the car. The suspension has an active damping suspension that becomes more rigid when sport mode is activated. The normal mode gives you a more comfortable ride with less rigidity to the suspension. Low grip mode is used in unfavorable traction control environment.
The engine has peaked performance at 396 bhp due to a more refined exhaust system with improvements on both the intake manifolds and valve seats. This is from a 4.2L resounding rev V8 engine that gives 333 lb-ft. The interior of the luxury car still has its own standing in today’s world with ample room for four. The luxury of heated seats embraces the driver and his right hand while the ambience is set with a high end CD changer audio system. The d├ęcor is set in carbon fiber and leather with the other features (apart from the display screen) being a carry-on from the coupe. The Maserati Cambiocorsa GranSport has made a name for itself as being an easy going luxury car to drive. It is also available as a two-seat convertible.
